
Domestic Installer 20
This course is aimed at those wishing to train as a domestic electrician and successful completion will leave the students in a position to be able to specify and install standard arrangements of domestic electrical circuits, and thus work as a Domestic Electrician. What is fundamentally important is that any electrical work is safe to prevent electrocution and/or fire. It is also a legal requirement that electricians, amongst other trades people, comply with Building Regulations. The course is arranged in such a way as to give both theory and practical elements which teach not only the correct way to do things but the importance of following the procedures. The Domestic Installer 20 Course is certificated with five different qualifications;
- EAL Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers
- City and Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
- City and Guilds 2393 Applicable Building Regulations
- City and Guilds 2377 – Portable Appliance Testing
- City and Guilds 2392 – Fundamental Inspection and Test
The C&G 2392 Fundamental Inspection and Testing, is an industry recognised qualification. Whilst there is an element of inspection and testing in the Domestic Installer Course, the 2392 builds upon this to enhance both your confidence and competence in this field, particularly where testing existing installations. Don’t forget that you will have to test existing installations where you are doing additions and or alterations. The course includes for both theory and practical and is both useful on its own and as a precursor to 2395 (see below).
Domestic Installer 25
Our 25 Package is aimed at those who wish to become either their own boss, and wish to get full level registration rather than just a Domestic Installer level, or to gain employment where 2391-10 is stipulated. 2391-10 is being replaced by 2395 latter in 2012 and thus this replacement qualification will be offered with the package. The addition of 2395 Inspection and Test will allow you to become a Qualifying Supervisor, subject to registration body onsite assessment, for an organisation, be that yourself or for a company. It will also show you the skills, both theoretical and practical required to Inspect and Test a wide range of electrical installations, including commercial and industrial. The Domestic Installer Premium adds the following qualification;
- City and Guilds 2395– Inspection and Test

The 2395 will also allow you to test and certify commercial and even industrial work”
Please note that the 2395 written exam dates are stipulated by City and Guilds, and cannot be varied.
